Satellite TV and DVR
![]() |
Satellite TV and DVR are two of the greatest advances in the world of television viewing to date. Satellite television is truly amazing, utilizing satellites that hover in space approximately 22,000 miles above our planet. These satellites are sent broadcast signals. Those signals are then amplified and sent to the satellite dishes of customers. The signal is then interpreted by the customers' receivers. There are different types of receivers, including those that are DVR capable.
DVR stands for digital video recorder and is one of the best advancements in television today. With a DVR receiver, you can do a variety of amazing things. You can pause live television. You can rewind and fast-forward it as well. Then there's the recording capabilities. The DVR receiver can record, store and replay a large volume of movies and programs. You can schedule recordings ahead of time. Your DVR receiver will record even if the television is turned to a different channel or turned off. You can even record two programs at the same time! If you want to transfer your recordings from DVR to VCR or DVD, you can do that also. Even five years ago, most people couldn't even imagine having that kind of technology and power at their fingertips. DVR is more affordable than you might think, costing only a few dollars more each month than a receiver without DVR.
Sounds good, doesn't it? If you're ready to experience all satellite television and DVR has to offer, you'll want to contact a provider in your area. The two major competing providers of both of these things are DirecTV and Dish Network. Both of these companies offer a wide variety of great packages to their customers. There are basic packages offered for budget prices, and in-depth packages offered for a great deal more. You can get a few channels, or you can get them all! And, you can usually get free equipment and installation when you sign up for a package. There are so many different channels you can choose from, the hardest part is deciding on the best package.
Once you experience all the features of satellite TV with a DVR receiver, you'll wonder why you didn't sign up sooner! If you'd like to learn more about this subject, simply follow the links on this page for additional information.
